This comfy space is a perfect place to base yourself as you explore Fundy National Park, Cape Enrage, Mary's Point and the Hopewell Rocks. It features many details that will delight such as the handmade tiles that surround the doors, a beautiful kitchen island, and other artisan touches. Your room includes breakfast basics (homemade bread, butter & jam, coffee & tea) that you can prepare for yourself. There is a kitchen, wifi, private bathroom and a clawfoot bathtub to relax in.
Wild and Rustic describes the environment I live in, but Artsy and Cozy would describe the 'Potter's Loft'. It's full of interesting features and comforts. There is an antique claw-foot bathtub with a shower wand to relax in after your day of excursions. The kitchen is beautiful and a pleasure to use with a fridge, gas range and nice lighting. It is equipped with the basics, and if something else is needed, we can probably provide it. If you arrive late and hungry, there is a great snack drawer with a variety of things available at a nominal cost (see photos). We use compost toilets on our property, so that is what you'll find in your private bathroom and also in the 'Rose Room' that you're welcome to use. It is outside near our garden. While the Loft is secure and private, you will walk through our sunroom and my pottery studio to get there. There is a charcoal barbeque you can use, we have charcoal available for a nominal cost. If you prefer a stand-up shower rather than a bathtub, we have one in the sunroom you are welcome to use.
You have a private entrance to your room. You are welcome to use either of two seating areas in our sunroom - great spots to relax with a book, coffee or drink.
I want everyone to know they are welcome here in our home and the Potters Loft. We live by the principals of inclusion and respect for all.
If you have any special needs or requests, I will do my best to accommodate them.
Please note there is a bathtub only in your room. If you prefer to shower, we have one in the sunroom you are welcome to use. It's sweet and rustic, has endless hot water, and you will shower among growing plants at your feet and grape vines overhead.
We use compost toilets here in our house and in the Potter's Loft. They are very easy to use and are virtually odourless thanks to our 'Peat Moss' system.
The price includes a cleaning fee and 15% HST. I would consider a one night stay, but a $30 cleaning charge will be added to the fee.
This is not a party house. Registered guests only after 9:00 pm. Quiet time is 11:00 pm. While we are in the country, sound travels and we ask that noise is kept at a reasonable level in respect for my neighbours.
For the most part, I am here working in the pottery. It's a separate space and my work won't affect the privacy or enjoyment of your room. I'm happy to take some time if you have questions about what to see and do in the area, or about my pottery techniques and process.
I am a full time potter and musician living a busy and creative life in rural New Brunswick. I moved here, drawn to the rugged beauty of the coast and the freedom to develop an independent and expressive lifestyle. My partner Nina & I love travelling, so we have set up this room to be the kind of accommodation that we'd be thrilled to find in our own travels. Nina is a real foodie and manages a popular vegetarian restaurant in Moncton called Calactus. She's also a musician and gifted songwriter, a yoga enthusiast and aromatherapist. We enjoy the good things in life, and try to grow as much food in our sunroom and garden as possible. We sometimes have chickens, pigs and goats as well. (None at the moment though). I work at home, so you'll likely have me here to greet you and help you out. I love art that is original and stimulating. The same for music. I play cello and guitar, am a CBC radio addict, and originally from Manitoba. You can see what I'm up to creatively at Tim Isaac Pottery.
