Building 1 (comprised of 4 units and 8 bedrooms) at Buttonwood Reserve offers families, friends or a wedding party the luxury, privacy and amenities for a perfect vacation.
This extraordinary new property is located on a ridge 45 feet above the Caribbean. The views of both oceans are truly breathtaking. From your large windows and extensive decks, you can watch the sun rise over the Atlantic and set over the Caribbean. Both views are vast and spectacular.
Buttonwood Reserve has access to two beaches, a small beach on the Caribbean side with calm shallow water, almost in your front yard, and a world-class, 3-mile-long pink-sand beach on the Atlantic side of the property. The Atlantic side beach is accessed via a private driveway. The property comes with four golf carts for easy access to the Atlantic beach.
If you’re not in the mood for a swim in the ocean, slip into our new resort-style pool, just steps from your condominium. This beautiful landscaped pool is heated for comfortable swimming year round.
Buttonwood Reserve consists of four 2-bedroom, 2-bath condos, each will a full kitchen. Each condo features a large great room with an 8-foot sliding glass door with spectacular Caribbean views. The slider opens onto a large deck furnished for lounging or dining while watching the sun set over the Caribbean. This spacious deck extends around the corner of the building for views in every direction. Enjoy a meal or a beverage on the deck, or watch the dolphins frolic in the Caribbean. The great room includes a living area with flat-screen satellite TV and a dining area with dining room seating for six. The east end of the great room features a modern, open-plan, luxurious kitchen finished in stainless steel and black granite. The kitchen, dining area, and living room have magnificent ocean views in every direction, with water sparkling as far as the eye can see.
The master bedroom of each suite features a large upholstered window seat with panoramic views of the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax with a book or a morning coffee. The master is furnished with a king bed and equipped with an en-suite full bath. The master has a private door leading to the west deck over the Caribbean.
The guest bedroom of each suite also features a large window seat. The guest bedrooms of the upper two suites enjoy spectacular Atlantic Ocean views. The guest bedroom has a full en-suite bath (which can be accessed from the hall as well). The guest bedroom is furnished with twin beds that can be converted into a king. The guest bedroom has a private door to the east deck of the house, which overlooks the Atlantic. The east deck also extends around the corner of the building for views in every direction.
Situated on 50 lush acres, Buttonwood Reserve extends from the Caribbean Sea on the west to the Atlantic Ocean on the east. Buttonwood’s spectacular three-mile Atlantic beach is pristine, without a single house on it. The only structures are thatched palapas we built on the dune for shade. Enjoy long walks, swimming, and body surfing on this beautiful beach. On windy days there will be waves. On calm days, when the ocean can be as flat as a lake, there is excellent snorkeling, including on a shipwreck close to shore.
Buttonwood Reserve comes with kayaks for use on the sea or in our pond. Buttonwood’s half-mile-long pond is a great spot for bird-watching or exploring.
Bicycles are also provided for riding around the property or to town, less than a mile away.
Our groundskeeper, Patrick, is an expert fisherman and will take you out fishing in his boat for a half day or full day (extra charges apply.) Grill your catch fresh on our infrared outdoor grill.

Buttonwood Reserve is an easy 15-minute drive from Governor’s Harbour, the main town on the island. Governor’s Harbour has a charming collection of 19th century homes and churches overlooking its historic harbor. Buy fresh fish and lobster every afternoon from the fisherman at the town dock. Visit the Haynes Library, which dates from 1897. Governor’s Harbour has grocery stores, restaurants, liquor stores, two banks with ATMs, a bakery, gift shops, and a medical clinic. The Friday night Anchor Bay Fish Fry in Governor’s Harbour, a combination street/beach party that brings together all the tourists and locals with food, drink and dancing in the street, is not to be missed.
Just a mile from Buttonwood Reserve is the village of James Cistern, which has two grocery stores (JC Discount and East and Final), a town dock where the fisherman bring their catch every day, a produce stand, and three small local restaurants, Kel-D’s, Lee’s Café, and the new Leorose Sunset Beach Bar and Grill. James Cistern is also the home of Stubb’s famous barbecue, now called Tamarind Tree Grill, every Friday and Saturday, which is not to be missed.
Other restaurants in the area include Pascal’s at boutique luxury resort Sky Beach Cub, which offers an excellent beachfront restaurant, beach bar and infinity pool with swim up cocktail bar and poolside service all day long. Other restaurants in the area include Tippy’s (international and fusion), The Beach House (tapas), 1648 Bar & Grille at French Leave (fine dining for lunch and dinner), The Rainbow Inn (steaks and Monday night brick oven pizza night) and Da Perk Café (café and sandwich shop). Most have live music one or more nights a week.
Eleuthera is most famous for its 100 miles of spectacular, deserted beaches. The island, home to just 8000 residents, is safe and friendly. The snorkeling, diving, and fishing on the island are world class. Boating, surfing, and other water sports are also popular. You can rent power boats, sailboats, sea kayaks and bikes. There is excellent sightseeing, as well. Eleuthera has vast caves, cliffs, a bottomless ocean hole, many unique beaches, historic churches and 19th century homes, and small villages to explore.
We hope you will enjoy Buttonwood Reserve and experience all that Governor’s Harbour and Eleuthera have to offer.
