I have been a host now for a couple of years and have thoroughly enjoyed the experience of having guests in my home, including many guests from abroad. I have a comfortable, beautifully decorated home, with lovely gardens, a back patio and fire-pit in a quiet, oak-laden St. Augustine neighborhood. Only 2 blocks to view of the intracoastal waterway and 6 blocks to a boat ramp. Bring your power boat and fishing gear, canoe or kayaks. This is the best neighborhood in St. Augustine for biking and walking along the Matanzas River for miles and miles. Stop and gaze at the herons, egrets, and roseate spoonbills along the marsh. Pause and enjoy the numerous gifts of nature here.
The private bedroom is a lovely and quiet room that looks out to the backyard and garden. It has a double bed which easily sleeps one person and two people if you are cozy and like to cuddle! Your private bathroom has a shower and a deep bathtub for soaking after a day of biking, historical sightseeing, or beaching it.
For weekend or short-term guests, I will provide a continental breakfast of coffee, tea, fresh fruit, toast or bagels and preserves. Long-term guests may use kitchen for breakfast and light food preparation in the evening.
My home is less than 5 miles to historic St. Augustine and to the St. Augustine beaches. Shops and numerous restaurants are within 2-3 miles. Flagler Hospital and University of St. Augustine are also within 2-3 miles which makes it easy for interns or university students who need a short-term stay here. Flight school students have often stayed at my home for 4-5 weeks while in training as well as teacher-training yoga students who are studying at Discovery Yoga Center.
I recently got a 9 pound Pomeranian, a rescue dog, named Beau. He is a bit shy with strangers but warms up real soon. He is friendly and sweet and stays with me primarily in the house.
I have large screen TV in the living room and Wifi connection. The back porch is nice for coffee or early morning meditation time. Driveway parking out front. I'm looking forward to sharing my home with you soon.!
No smokers please.. Check in is flexible between 3-9pm. Please make arrangements with me ahead of time. Kitchen rules may apply, but I can go over them with you when you arrive.
I love nature, the beach, doing yoga, eating well, being with friends, reading and cherishing the day. I'm looking forward to sharing my home with BnB guests. I can communicate in French and speak a little Spanish as well.
