Welcome to the little haven :)
In the following sections you will find plenty of information about the apartment that might be useful for you if you consider choosing to book accommodation. In the next section you might want to look into what fits your particular needs whether you travel as a couple, travel for work, weekend-travelers, several guests or with children, if you stay for longer term (more than a week) . Some of the information is relevant for all guests.
_____________Description of Accommodation ___________________
The apartment is well planned and with its 55 m2 it seems larger with spacious Swedish- style original kitchen with plenty of storage space, good sized bedroom and the living room fits both a dining area and large comfortable sofa.
____________Herbs, tomatoes, creativity, relaxation and comfort_______
When staying in the apartment I am most certain that you will spend much time on the balcony. It is very comfortable, cozy and like a small haven with herbs, tomatoes and very comfortable chairs that treat your backs and seats with respect :) During chillier autumn and winter-nights you can turn on the infra-heating and wrap warm blankets around your shoulders. I sit here mostly myself with my , tea, wine and books. I also use this space to paint and get some peace of mind.
In the afternoons you will have the evening sun on a bright day and during the evenings you can light all the candles and create a most enjoyable atmosphere sipping on your wine and play your favorite tunes in the stereo equipment. The stereo is linked with the wifi as such you can play your favorite music on your playlists or radio stations).
All the herbs are eatable and they are happy to complement your dinner if you only give them a treat of water every once in a while (if you stay for more than a week and do not wish to have extra service with cleaning during your stay). Here are also three tomato plants and perhaps you can also have a few of them in your salad :) I hope that my lush little garden will survive over the summer even though I will not be around. I will do my best to make it stay in this condition all the way to the autumn!
________________ Sleep well and wake up relaxed :) _________________
The bedroom is also generous. It gives you the hotel feeling and the bed is very comfortable with the top mattress from Tempur. I am sure you will have a proper rest at night and wake up fresh in the morning :)
Other than that I think my home really feels like a home and you could stay here comfortably for a longer period of time !
____________Different Guests , different needs____________________
Accomodation is provided for different types of guests that have different needs. Below you will find different sections what type of access you will have and amenities that might be useful for you depending on what type of traveller you are. Some amenities are free for your use and some would need to be replaced or refunded on cost-price.
Bedding, towels, extra pillows – of if you wish – Tempur pillows
Schampoo, conditioner, shower creme. If you have forgotten your toothbrush you can find a couple in the bathroom at self-cost.
Iron, hair-dryer, hair-straightener, cleaning products that you can use freely.
In the kitchen you will find spices, coffee, tea, salt, sugar that you can use as you wish. If you find flower and other staple commodities you may use those if you wish to bake your scones in the morning. You are more than welcome to complement your meals with the herbs and tomatoes (if they are ripe!) on the balcony.
You can freely use all the equipment in the kitchen such as the microwave, toaster, coffee brewer , kettle etc. I do not have a dish-washer unfortunately!
You will find closet and shelf space for your use in the hallway and in the bedroom.
If you feel creative one day you can find paint brushes on the balcony acrylic paint in the wooden box next to the easel. There are a few canvases in different sizes. I would appreciate if you either replace those (They canbe bought at the Triangle Shopping centre at Clas Ohlson or Systrarna Grene) Alternatively you leave some money or make a transfer.
You will also find a few bottles of wine. You are more than welcome to enjoy those at cost-price.
_______Business Travellers /Work-Office space and equipment_______
* If you need a printer to print out documents you will also have one available along with printing paper (it is not new but works properly!) . If you print more than a few pages you can leave a sum on the kitchen-table that you see fit.
* I do not have a designated working area in the apartment myself. I do however use the kitchen table for work as there is plenty of space. In the drawers under the kettle there is plenty of office-items that you might need (pens, hole-punchers, post-it notes etc) that you might need for your work. The chairs around the dining table are comfortable to sit on if you need to spend a few hours infront of your computer.
_________________Couples and Sole travellers_______________________
My apartment is generally set up for couples and sole traveller. As such you will find the basic comfort for a couple.
_______________Families with Small Children _______________________
* If you do travel with a small child you will have both a child chair and travel cot at your disposal
*Car safety seat for children
* A smal pram for children
* As I live on the 3rd floor it might be unformfortable to walk up the stairs with a pram. As such you will have access to a storage room in the basement that you can access via a ramp and can avoid unnecessary carrying. It is located closely to the entrance. You find car safety seat and pram there as well.
* You do not pay extra If you bring an Infant under a year of age
Children over a year pay full price. However as I do have some furniture that that you will want to consider regarding he risk of your child getting hurt. And there are also some furniture that are at risk such as the ehite linnen sofa. I will however make sure that some protective measures will be done and Eila wil put a protective cover over the sofa Cushing so you avoid the risk of having to lose your deposit as that would be unfortunate.
Other than that you need to make your own judgement if my apartment is child friendly enough for you Since I do not have children myself there might be things that I overlook- please let us know so we can adjust such needs for future guests!
______________Travelling up to 4 people _________________________
* Sleeping arrangements for third and fourth person sofa will function as a bed. It is large and comfortable. There is also a single mattress that you can place on the floor in the bedroom or in the living room ( you might need to move the dining table and chairs to one side however). Please not: the bedroom door is not possible to close entirely at the moment as the door frame on the floor is too high and blocking the door. I will intend to address this as soon as I can.
_______________Long Term Stay (over a week) ____________________
* The kitchen has as such plenty of storage space and cupboards that you can use for your convenience if you will stay for a while and would like to do a weekly shopping. If needed there is also storage space in the basement where you can lock larger things.
* If you will stay for more than a week you can use the laundry facilities in the basement
* if you wish to avoid doing cleaning during your stay you can have extra cleaning service during your stay for the same cost as the set service fee.
________Amenities: Free and at Self-Cost ______________________
Guests that are staying for more than a few days and will do their own shopping it would be preferable if you replace items that are at self cost.
Alternatively you can leave some money on the table and make a note in the little book that you find in the kitchen what item that the money are referring to. Another option is to transfer money via swish or to my bank-account via (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN). ( Details are found in the Guest Handbook here on the website)
For weekend traveller it might be difficult to do shopping (such as replacing the wine/beers as the liquor stores are closed from 3 pm saturday until monday morning) as such leaving money on table or by transfer will be the best option.
You will be provided more detailed information once booked your trip. In the kitchen you will have a guest handbook with all information that you might need, important numbers, suggestions

I am traveling quite a bit so it is likely and unfortunate that we will not meet in person. Will will hence mainly have contact through Airbnbs message function. During next year I am starting up a sustainable tourism- project on the island of Flores in Indonesia and will be away for longer periods of time. However, I will have my help-hosts that either will meet you and hand over your keys. Alternatively you will pick up the keys at a designated spot and mainly keep in touch with me and/or help-hosts over the phone, by sms or here via Airbnb. In the guest handbook that you have access to once you make your booking you will find a list of numbers to family members and close friends of mine. You are always welcome to call them in case you have any questions or need assistance.
We will do our very best to accommodate your needs even when I am not around to host you personally. If I am on Swedish ground when you visit town i am happy to show you around Malmö or maybe even take a hike along the Skåneleden hiking trails if time allows. I enjoy meeting new people and have a good chat over a dinner , coffee - or as we call it in Swedish: "fika" :)
Before I took the academic path I was working for six years in hospitality abroad. As such I have plenty of experience from this business. I understand the importance of enjoyable and problem-free stays, value for money and the small extras. However this is the first time I rent out my own place and I consider all the particular needs Airbnb travellers might have. As such I appreciate all constructive feed-back so I can improve my guests experience during their stays.
In case you lack anything I will attempt to provide a solution for you as quickly as I possibly can and I apologize in beforehand for any inconvenience that you may encounter. Hopefully this will not happen but every once in a while some unforeseen things may occur. In such case or if you lack anything contact me or my family or friends that will host your stay and I will attempt to attend to your needs as fast as possible.
During november and december I will be home and you might see that there is less availability. However, you can always write to me and make a request and I can see if there will be a possibility to make an arrangement for accommodation.
As this is my home, and my home is my gem, it is important for me to know who will be living in my apartment. As such I like a personal contact with my guests and very much appreciate if you contact me and tell me a little bit about yourself and the purpose of your trip! ( the Swedish summer is otherwise a very good reason to visit Malmo :)
There is also one more reason for you to write to me and that is that I am currently not getting a message or notification from air bnb if a booking is made directly (neither by mail/sms or on my host-page on the web-site) - although your booking request is reserved in the calendar and visible there. I do however get notified immediately when a private message/mail is sent to me (I get messages via sms and mails) so you can be assured that I will get back to you shortly! :)
I am looking for guests that enjoy tranquility and a relaxing time when being around the house. If you enjoy good parties my place will thus not be suitable for you. I am sure that Malmö has accommodation suitable for all types of guests however! If you are interested to book for more than a week I don't mind if you have green fingers and support the herbal survival on the balcony - otherwise my sister Eila will need access so she can take care of those things. And she has "green fingers" :) I do expect that my guests are calm, respectful and thoughtful about the possible increase in noisiness that more guests might bring if you come four people.
A general rule in apartment buildings is that music should be turned down after 10 pm. So please follow this rule!
You are welcome to smoke on the balcony (with balcony windows open!).
Please treat my home as if it was your own or your best friends and please ensure that you leave it in the state you found it. When you leave you may however leave the bedding as it is and leave the towels in the bathroom and they will be taken cared of!
If you are considering to book accommodation in my apartment you might want to know who the owner is and who will host you during your stay.
Apart from that you will see signs of who I am when looking at the paintings on the walls in the apartment, on the acrylic-stained easel on the balcony and the hiking stick in the closet I consider myself a an approachable, easy-going, open (and openminded) welcoming person with anyone that show me equal approachability and openness.
Along this line I hence like a personal contact with my guests. Because for me the most important thing when accepting accommodation-request is that instant feeling that this is a person that I would happily welcome to stay in my home - a place in which they can feel like home :)
As indicated above, I do very much enjoy painting. For me painting is like floating meditation as it brings me a peace of mind and tranquility. Hiking is also a passion and many of my travels will contain at least an aspect of wandering down some hiking trail. When home in Malmö I mostly do my hiking trips at Skåneleden that have several beautiful trails. Well recommended for those that like to spend time in the nature!
I am driven by curiosity and love to explore new areas in life- reading and learning is an insatiable need in me! As such the choice to study to become a researcher was the right one to take. (Hopefully I will manage to finish my PhD sometime in this lifetime!) I also work as a lecturer at the School of Economics and Management at Lund University.
I will be away for a few weeks during the autumn and plan to go away for a longer period of time next year as I am starting up a project in Sustainable Tourism on the island of Flores, Indonesia. During my travels you will be hosted by family and friends and they will attend to your needs and answer any questions that you might have. You can always get in touch with me via Airbnb mail and I will get back to you as soon as I can!
I look forward to hear a little bit about you and your traveling to Sweden! Say hi and write me a few lines when you send your booking request :)
