Dear Gade, I understand your concern about bugs, and I am sorry your daughter is allergic to mosquitoes bites. Bugs are a common concern of tourist on their first visit to Australia. Unfortunately, insects are an integral part of our fauna, and this is why Australia is still a natural habitat for many birds and wildlife which overflows into our cities. We Australians know that no amount of localised pest control will ever rid a single property of all insects, as they live outside in the streets, in the parks... we have learned to live with them and using the electric devices I provide to my guests in each room is very efficient to keep the mosquitoes away when required. Putting screens on all windows and doors and sealing all openings, would not be my preferred option since the issue is very minimal. I find screens unaesthetic and Sydney having a sub-tropical climate, you can really notice few bugs and mosquitoes only in the middle of summer. We are lucky in Rozelle as we don’t have such danger as the deadly Funnel Web spider, that inhabit the Northern beach section of Sydney. I am pleased that you said it was one of the best New Year’Eve you had, and that the position, the many assets of the house, and all our communications made your stay so enjoyable.
