Cozy bedroom with comfy full sized bed. 15 min bike to downtown with easy access to greenbelt. This room has it's own minifridge and microwave for your convenience.
Enjoy shared use of the kitchen, laundry, yard and great area of town with great ethnic markets and eateries. Enjoy privacy and communal experience in our home.
Cute & eclectic bench home. Mid-century country charm meets bohemian artsy. Super fun hosts who love Boise and love to show you around or give you all the necessary deets on where to go and what to see no matter what type of adventure you seek! We love to travel and meet new people and share our love of Boise with others just as we love learning from locals in other cities about their towns.
The large back yard has a yard swing and hammock (the back yard is currently undergoing re-landscaping conversion to a permaculture yard, the front is lovely with a summer nosh garden).
Both yards are private with abundant raspberries in summer and we are a stroll from blackberry picking.
In the warm summer months the upstairs bedroom uses a water-cooled box fan for AC or a window AC unit while the basement bedroom stays pretty cool. We have additional fans & will do what we can to make your stay comfortable.

As much or as little as you like. Let me know what you'd like to know about town & I'm happy to fill you in. I've lived here most of my life & if I don't know the answer, I generally know who does. We do love to get to know you while you're staying here so if you require ultimate privacy please let us know ahead of time so we can both be comfortable.
The back yard is currently undergoing some serious renovation and the front yard is small and pleasant.
The garage is unavailable & the vintage Dodge station wagon in the driveway is an old friend in long-term repair.
We have 2 cats who call the house home: Bailee (all black) is more of an outdoor cat while Princess (tuxedo b&w) prefers the indoors. Their food, water & box are in the basement laundry room & when we are travelling we have a friend who tends to them, please don't be surprised when they knock on the door to take care of the girls. When we are home, our dog Lucy is a friendly & social Mountain View Cur but don't be scared off by her gruff greeting, it's how she lets everyone know she's the gatekeeper, she warms up right away & if you stay awhile she soon greets you with a smile and a wag. While we are gone she keeps our friends company at their house.
If you have pets please understand animal nature is that ours will be territorial but will likely warm up after some transitional time if you happen to be staying for more than a week (all depending on the mix of personalities).
The minor cleaning fee is not a maid fee.
This fee covers the cost of cleaning the bedding after you & your room will be cleaned for any guests to follow (& in general favor of cleanliness).
Be clean & clean up after yourself.
We simply ask you to be responsible & courteous in sharing of our home.
Be considerate, clean and responsible.
Rules for smoking:
Away from the entries and courteous disposal of butts required, ie.: in the garbage.
I am an artist, mother, interior designer/remodeling contractor/realtor, community advocate for sustainable building and development, pusher of ‘livable communities’, ‘green-bean’, lover of the outdoors, and a bit of a chameleon. I’m “free-spirited”, an appreciator of culture and diversity, believer in humanity and equality and consumer of quality food and wine, and beer. So basically, I’m full flavor – in personality and how I live life. I love learning about different cultures & experiencing new world perspectives - I find it very inspirational for life in general as well as the work that I create. Life is a journey & I am here to cherish it.
I love hiking, hotspringing, sinking my feet into sand & smelling the air after a rain. I love waterfalls & oceans & good food. I love meeting the locals in the places we travel & having them show us their favorite spots - I think you learn a lot more about what makes a place great by seeing & sharing it through the eyes and hearts of the locals rather than a guidebook whenever possible. We love to share our favorite parts of town with our guests & introduce them to the people and places that we feel makes our home special.
We're fans of Airbnb & we love to host travelling guests. It gives us the chance to travel vicariously while we handle things on the home front & plan our next adventure.
We are currently undergoing a long process of converting our home to GlobeTrotter Gardens & Guest House: A communal style guest home for travelers and a community garden & orchard. The spacious back yard is undergoing a conversion from grass to edible permaculture & pollinator landscaping.
2014-15 are the years of mulching the yard in preparation for the major overhaul in 2016-17. If we get to meet you before the yard is done I hope you'll return for a visit so you can see the before & afters!
While we're sharing this space, please understand: we are lively, vivacious people & lovers of music & people. If you require sterile quiet while you are here, you may not be choosing the best space for you & we want you to have the best time during your stay in Boise.
We love our local community radio (& will tell you all about it if you let us), we typically listen to it while are up in the morning working & going to school & that involves music, breakfast, singing, sometimes dancing, conversation & waking up to the day. If you work nights we will work hard to accommodate you but ask the same in return - please don't ask us to turn our lives off.
While we are off gallavanting - enjoy the space & embrace the the freedom of living life on your own timeline ;)
We love having guests but we also love guests who can appreciate us as well :)
