We'll start by saying that this is a good place to stay, but we had a really rough arrival.
Alex is great with communication, but our arrival process was particularly bumpy. We planned to arrive in the evening of a certain date. Our bus was delayed, so we had to come in the morning of the next day (not Alex's fault). We were able to communicate with him through all this, so that's great.
The last communication we had was that his colleague would meet us near the apartment at 8:30am or 9:00am of the following morning. We arrived around 8:00am and waited for about 2 hours before asking a girl smoking on her balcony to help us. She called the listed number, and it was not Alex's. In the end, his colleague came around 10:20am. From there, it was a relatively good experience.
If you are using public transportation, we recommend getting bus tickets ahead of time so that you can get back to the city, as there are no kiosks in the vicinity of the apartment.
It takes 40 to 50 minutes to get to the city center from the apartment.
Another small hiccup, which ended in a "no harm, no foul" situation, was that after we applied and had our booking accepted, Alex informed us that there is a charge for late check-ins. The listing shows 24-hour check-ins, and that checking in is okay anytime after 1pm. His method to bypass this issue seems to be having the guest stop by his office to get the key on the way to the apartment. In the end, we didn't have to go to the office, and we were not charged for a late check-in, so again, no harm no foul. Still, we would recommend contacting Alex to ask about check-in details for your situation before submitting a booking proposal.
Once we were in the apartment and knew the ropes of public transportation, everything went smoothly, and it was a nice place to stay.
There is a grocery 10 minutes away by foot. The apartment is very comfortable, has a great kitchen, and a great washing machine.
