Hi Kaylin, we have decided to switch out our thermostat with a smart thermostat that will let us place a temperature sensor in the basement. That way the central furnace will respond to the temperature of the basement instead, and the additional heaters down there will still supplement for additional heat for those who like it a bit warmer. You’re actually the 2nd person this month to mention being cold in the basement, when we haven’t had that issue before. We think it’s because of the drawn out winter we had coupled with the sudden change to warm weather. Upstairs has been warm so the central furnace has not needed to switch on but the basement was still seeing colder temperatures because the ground was still frozen in early May. Thanks for your feedback, and we hope you enjoyed your stay in Calgary.
