Feel as if you've come to stay with old friends who just happen to have amazing water views and wonderful pets. With dinner & breakfast included, all you need to do is sit back, relax and enjoy!
We are a semi-retired professional couple who made a lifestyle choice to relocate from Melbourne to Tasmania so that we could live in a beach house with absolute water frontage. We have 160 degree views overlooking Fredrick Henry Bay, which is an approximately 45 minute drive from the capital of Hobart and half way to the famous convict ruins of Port Arthur.
The house is a modernised but old shack, with 2 bedrooms, study, one bathroom, separate toilet and open plan living, dining and kitchen areas. As such, it will never look as pristine as a newer or modern home. But we also have 2 decks to make the most of outside living and the views!
We share the house with 2 cats (Oscar and Mr Fup) and our German Shepherd, Hugo. As the animals are inside whenever they choose to be, our home is not for you if you have any allergies. Also, if you're not used to living with animals inside and forgoing a degree of cleanliness for the pleasure of their company, another nearby AIRBNB host may better serve your needs. Being a double coated dog, Hugo drops hair every time he moves although we keep him out of the guest room.
A continental breakfast is provided and you are welcome to join us for a family dinner as Primrose Sands is a beach community with few services.
Relax and re-energise in the peace and natural beauty of Primrose Sands, perhaps taking a walk along the mile long empty beach or fishing from our rocks. There are lots of books to read and Foxtel to keep up with world news or those all important sports results or TV shows! Then look at the stars in a perfectly clear sky at night before sleeping in near perfect quiet...if you're lucky and have the right camera gear, you might even see the Southern Aurora.
Please feel free to treat our house as your own while you're here. Feet on the furniture are just fine!
We will be here during your stay and will spend as much or as little time interacting with you as you like. However, Hugo will try to get you to play with him!!
Primrose is a holiday beach community primarily for Hobart people who have 'shacks' here; however, more and more people are choosing to live here permanently.
Unfortunately, Tasmania has very little public transport. You cannot get here without your own vehicle and taxi costs to Primrose are prohibitive.
Before booking, bear in mind that:
1.Only Telstra has coverage in Primrose Sands.
2.Parking is on the street.
3.You must have your own transport.
4.We have the Internet/ Wi-Fi.
5.You need to be an animal lover and accept some animal hair inside.
You're free to smoke outside, but you won't be too uncomfortable as we have an undercover sitting area for that.
Your pets are welcome with prior negotiation.
Kindly advise me before your arrival of specific dietary requirements as our local shopping centre is 25 km away!
Showers need to be limited to 3-4 minutes as we're on tank water.
No children, please. The house is simply too small for both animals and children.
Then just come, relax and enjoy!
Love reading, film, animals (hence my German shepherd and two cats!), travelling, cooking, wine, restaurants...
We used airbnb when we travelled to the States a couple of years ago and had a great time, so decided to offer our home to fellow travellers too!
