Kahuka Hale is an awesome place to get away for both business and pleasure. We traveled as a small group of professors looking for a place to write, relax and explore a little bit of island culture outside of the busy tourist streets of Waikiki. Kalani's place was perfect. North Shore has a great selection of beaches and Kahuka Hale is literally 5-7 miles from your choice of sandy strips of blue water. As suggested by Kalani, we visited Sunset Beach, which was awesome. We also went to the Polynesian Cultural Center which was 3-4 miles up the road and one of the best experiences!
Although North Shore had a great selection of food trucks to experience, we chose to shop at the local grocery and make use of Kalani's propane grill and back patio. Best choice ever! All the basics we needed were in the kitchen, including a great blender for green drinks, a coffee pot and plenty of pots and pans. Kalani's home is almost brand new, with great countertops and appliances. The shower head in the bathroom was perfect and simple items like towels were readily available. Be aware that chickens and roosters are apart of the Hawaiian culture, but we loved how the crowing in the morning really encouraged us to wake early and enjoy the sunrise with the entire day ahead of us.
I would highly recommend making use of Kahuka Hale if you want a low-key, comfortable, reasonable priced, no conflict experience.
