For a few weeks prior to my trip, I was emailing with Saskia and she was super helpful in answering my questions like the directions to get to her place, changing money and buying food for groceries. She really went out of her way to be helpful.
The place itself is another thing. I am a 50 year old man used to traveling alone. I can be comfortable in a lot of places. When I first saw Saskia's place, I was surprised at how dusty it was and how the appliances looked very run down. I had to adjust my expectations and make the best of it which I did.
There is air conditioning in at least 2 of the three bedrooms. The bedrooms are set up with just beds only and seem designed for a large family. One room had two sets of bunk beds. There is nothing on the walls, no other furniture and the walls are badly stained. The light fixtures and ceiling fans all work but are strictly functional.
There is a beautiful outdoor deck where you can work on your computer and view the ocean. There are several hammocks set up too.
Water pressure is an issue so you have to be flexible with things requiring water.
