Suitable for up to two guests, VINTAGE LISBON’S HOME is well situated for exploring the city by foot or public transportation (the world’s most super tram, line 28, is an 8 minutes’ walk away). The subway link is excellent for reaching all the main attractions in the downtown in just 10 minutes. To help you get started, you will get a short meet up with me to get tips and recommendations on Lisbon – half an hour. Want to discover the real Lisbon? Book it and you’ll be given a one-off experience of Lisbon life and can discover a side to the city that only locals see.
Sleeping arrangements include one double bed. The house is lovingly equipped, not luxurious but comfortable. All furnishings and facilities (two rooms, kitchen and bathroom) have been chosen according to style and authenticity in order to get the atmosphere of a Portuguese home from the past. Linens and towels are provided. The house has a free Wi-Fi network. For self-catering guests there are restaurants, shops and supermarkets within easy walking distance. The only obvious thing missing is a television – which is deliberately left out.

The immediate surrounds are best explored on foot. Shops and restaurants are located nearby. The city’s many highlights, such as Alfama district, are easy to reach by public transportation. The subway runs frequently all day from 6.30 am till 1 am. Bairro Alto (the nightlife-loving district) and elegant Chiado are only a few metro stations away. The Rossio’s train station (from where departs the trains to Sintra, the wooded wonderland) can be reached in about 15 minutes, and Belém in about 25-30 minutes.
Check-in and checkout are flexible, except when there are a check-in and checkout on the same day. In that case, check-in starts at 4 pm and checkout should be until 11 am. Exceptions from the rule may be agreed on request.
The house is a non-smoking property. The tenant(s) is responsible for all damages to the property caused by them, their family or visitors. During the rental period, the tenant is responsible for securing access, e.g. that doors and windows are properly closed and locked when leaving the house.
The tenant also obliges to keep the house and furnishings neat and clean and to treat all furniture with proper care.
The tenant is not entitled to lodge more individuals, or different individuals, than stated in the rental agreement without the host’s explicit approval. In the case of non-compliance, the host shall have the right to reject these individuals or adjust the rent based on the actual number of guests.
In the interests of local residents and neighbours, the usual noise limits and norms of behaviour for residential areas shall apply. The tenant shall undertake to keep volumes moderate and to respect the customary rest periods. The host are entitled to terminate the rental agreement with immediate effect, and to demand the guests’ immediate departure if they grossly violate their duties to care for the rental property, especially if they take in other individuals and/or pets, or if they wilfully damage the rental property, or if they otherwise endanger the property or disturb the neighbours with their conduct.
By accepting the booking confirmation, the guest recognises the validity of the booking conditions as binding. For both parties, the place of contractual fulfilment and jurisdiction is the city of Lisbon. Portuguese law applies.
Although I put down certain rules above, I do not expect any trouble. Until now all my guests proved to be very friendly. And what is more: they all enjoyed their stay!
