The Vicarage has spectacular countryside views & is in easy walking distance of the town & its amenities. We currently have 2 beautiful & individually styled bedrooms available. Bentham is central to the Forest of Bowland, Yorkshire Dales & the Lakes
We will accept small, well behaved, house trained dogs that get on with cats. We will happily provide a small wooden basket and blanket for your dog, so please no sleeping on the bed. We have been asked if dogs can have full range of the house, unfortunately not as Boris and Poppy wouldn't like it. Dogs are allowed in your bedroom and if you do bring a takeaway back can sit in the kitchen with you. Any questions please ask.

I have a passion for travelling, ancient history and art, music, walking the mountains to the lakes, jungles to the sea, food and friends and laughing.
I got bitten by the travelling bug when I was 18 and hitched all around Europe visiting Paris, Venice, Pisa, Florence, Rome, Corfu and Athens to name but a few. The love of these countries and their spectacular cities, culture, history, people and food has meant I have never stopped travelling and wanting to explore – everywhere from Dambulla in Sri Lanka, Blue Mountains in Sydney, Franz Joseph Glacier in New Zealand, to Macchu Pichu in Peru, the Terracotta Warriors in Xian China and Ankgor in Cambodia.
I love art, craft and making things and am a collector, hoarder and recycler. From beach combing I make natural driftwood wreaths, socks are turned into monkeys, old wooden pallets into a 20ft long pirate ship for a party and cardboard into a totem pole. My husband and I also make and sell garden plaques, the designs are sculpted from clay, moulds made, then cast in concrete – Zeus, Easter Island Heads and the Green Man now peer from many a leafy garden wall.
Music has always been a major part of my life from that electric buzz of my first T-Rex single to the music revolution in the late 70’s…. the established all male, big stadium bands continued to tour whilst in the sweaty, dimly lit clubs and pubs up and down the country a nightmare erupted. A musical force so powerful that it provoked the kind of public reaction not seen since the birth of rock n’roll in the 50’s……Punk was my passion.
So I bought a guitar and got a band together – I sing, play and write and love performing. Not so much now, but I still like to go to gigs and festivals.
Cooking is great especially when you have grown it yourself – my veg patch is manic and I also love foraging and have made yummy blackberry and plum jams, sloe jelly and gin!
Oh and I love trying out new things…………………………….
