Spacious, well-located, historic (150 +) years shotgun studio space opens up onto a lush butterfly garden. It is situated on the bus line directly to French Quarter, half-mile from the St. Charles streetcar line and one mile from Audubon Park. Fabulous Magazine Street shopping (including Whole Foods) within blocks.
Light and airy, consisting of two large adjoined rooms, queen bed, pull-out twin, kitchen access, full bath (with antique clawfoot tub, shower), walk-in closet, small worktable and private entrance at the back of the house. Old New Orleans shotgun (not condo/suburban) ambience! Sorry, no TV. Shower may not be comfortable for very tall or very large folks. Also, garden may not be "lush" and full of butterflies in the cooler months!
Private bath, sleeping area and entrance. Entrance is at the back of the house....probably not desirable for folks with mobility issues.

Upon your arrival, if at all possible, I will make myself available to answer any questions you may have. If I am not home to assist you with any questions or needs, feel free to text me....I am usually in the vicinity.
Feel free to play the in-house console piano! Also, I have a beloved elderly dog. He is part of the household but is a mellow guy (unless the mailman comes) and tends to stay out of the way. Please keep the gates closed after yourself (and any guests you may have during your stay) for his safety (and the safety of our mail carrier). Occasionally my young grandsons and/or my granddog come to visit and occupy the main part of the house with me. If you are driving, please note that off street parking is not available.
Breakfast is self-serve; the refrigerator is kept stocked with bagels , fresh fruit and other assorted goodies.

If you want to have fun, be my guest, just a few rules: no smoking in the space itself (there is back porch for that), no candles and please , if you have friends in town, don't invite more than a couple of them to hang out with you in the apartment ( there is an extra charge for additional overnighters). I would also ask that you (and any guests you have) kindly remember to close the gate when you enter and exit; I have a dog, young grandkids and some of my family members and friends who stop to visit have dogs. Also, please leave your guns at home. Thanks!
I recently retired from a lengthy stint teaching art to gifted children in New Orleans public schools. Now I have plenty of time to paint, tend my yard rabbits and welcome guests!
