It really doesn't get any better than this! Come share my Garden of Eden in the North Portland Overlook neighborhood, walking distance to the Mississippi Arts District.
Located 3 blocks from a Max (Portland's street car) stop, a 15 minute ride into downtown [and the train station!] and 45 minute ride to the airport. Alternatively, on a major bike route with about a 15-20 minute ride into downtown (bike rentals available here!!). As well, by car, the house is a 10 minute drive to downtown and a 15 minute drive to the airport.
This is my personal residence, formerly a full guesthouse. I rent out the entire space while I'm traveling. The master bedroom has my personal belongings stored in it when it's being rented to guests. This house is one of two that are part of an urban permaculture eco-village 1/4 acre community property. The house next door which shares the property is home to four eco conscious roommates in their mid twenties to mid thirties. The edible landscaped yard is fully open to and shared with the other home and its inhabitants. The homestead (yard space of the two properties) is also shared with 9 beautiful chickens and one honey bee colony. As well, the neighborhood is surrounded in beautiful gardens. The interior of the home is being remodeled into an eco modern paradise utilizing all sustainable and non-toxic materials. (The base molding trim and finished kitchen counters are still missing!) We are very environmentally conscious; recycle everything and compost, the electricity is sourced 100% from wind power through the service provider, as well, the gas heating comes from the Methane produced on dairy farms!
There are 3 cozy bedrooms each with a queen sized bed and a super comfy full sized pull out bed in the living room to comfortably accommodate up to 8 people. There are 1 1/2 bathrooms (just one shower for the whole house though, which generally isn't an issue with good communication between you and your travel companions!).
Access to on-site laundry can be provided upon request for a nominal fee. The fully stocked kitchen is available for you to prepare meals in if you so choose and New Seasons Market, Portland's local grocery store, is only two Max stops away or a 15 minute walk. Depending on the season there may be fresh fruit and veggies from the garden available!
Enjoy a walk to the Mississippi Neighborhood where you'll find quaint coffee shops, fabulous boutiques, yoga studios, spa's, music venues and pubs. There are a number of amazing local restaurants near…
