Our wooden rainforest home has a remote feel on the Waitikubuli hiking trail ( mid segment 4) yet with easy access to the main road. Enjoy the tree top plunge pool, solar water heating and watching the abundant bird life from a hammock drinking local coffee in the morning. Owners live in Roseau but usually welcome guests and are on call via the internet. Neighbours through the trees, can provide lovely meals ordered in the morning and transport if needed.
Well equipped, wooden cabin in the treetops of the Rainforest. On the edge of the World Heritage Site Morne Trois Pitons in the volcanic island of Dominica .With parrots and hummingbirds as visitors and a rainwater plunge pool 20 feet above ground, this accommodation is ideally placed on the Waitikubuli Hiking Trail. There is WiFi to stay in touch and groceries can be delivered or bought from the corner shop and the vegetable stall by the road. Two hundred yards from the main road in a developing area, yet with a remote and isolated feel when looking out from the balcony. A rental 4X4 Jeep can take you to many unusual attractions within an hours drive, hot springs, rushing rivers and waterfalls and Organic Farm tours to name a few. Birdwatching for the parrots, only found in Dominica, diving and snorkeling, whale watching and local fishing can all be arranged. Visit the Kalinago Indian Basket weavers and see their traditional dances performed at the model village.
We are about 45 minutes drive from the airport and half an hour form the ferry. We can arrange pick ups and car rentals, cell phone rental and lots of introductions!
Do expect rain and even a chilly dawn until the sun gets up! We have hot water from a solar system which you can put into the pool to take the edge off! See you soon, the hammock is waiting. Do not worry about negative reviews about the temperamental water pump . It has been pensioned off and replaced. and we are now on mains water to water pressure is no longer a problem.
Guests access the pool which opens straight off the deck. Access to the surrounding forest (with insect repellent) and the feeder path to the Hiking trail ( rather muddy at times) the shop and a couple of bars are walking distance away . The neighbours are friendly and supportive if needed.

We usually meet and greet and lead or transport you to the house, make sure you have all you need and remain on call by phone or email. We have a home near to the Ferry so sometimes people stay with us the night before they leave.
We recommend NOT renting a vehicle at the airport if arriving at night. Get a taxi ( which we can arrange) to SYLVANIA Door to Door. Too many tourists get lost or break down in the dark. The roads are unlit and there are frequent roadworks. Our neighbours have installed a light at the top of the steep hill which helps as the parking is tricky. We wish we owned the whole forest.....however it is exciting to be planting trees and flowers to attract yet more birds and butterflies.
Please do not smoke in the wooden house. there is a compost pit and we will take the garbage bags when we visit. If you put all the hot water in the pool there will be none left in the shower. We live half an hours drive away but our neighbours Fiona and Tony through the trees, can provide meals and help in emergencies.

I am originally from the UK and double as the British Honorary Consul, a resource for tourists in trouble. My husband Harry is Dominican and is a fisherman and drives the bus for children with challenges. By profession I am a social worker and counsellor. We are Christians and are known in society as Sister Tina and Brother Harry.
Harry has a local fishing business and can often supply fresh Marlin Mahi Mahi or Tuna. He also can be prevailed upon to take people on sea sight seeing tours or local sea fishing adventures.
We live in Munro Street in Goodwill and are conveniently located near to the Hospital and the Stadium.
