The Red Barn is located in a very rural setting about 10 miles from Gettysburg. The Red Barn is approximately 1/2 mile off the main road and within a stone's throw of the Mason Dixon Line. If you are looking for a quiet space off the internet "grid" this is the place. Plenty of books to read, miniature donkeys to watch playing with their border collie pal and on a clear night - see some awesome stars!
A renovated Barn with two bedrooms, full kitchen and two full baths
The second bedroom in a separate suite with a mini kitchenette.
There is also a balcony with table and chairs. Perfect for a summer breakfast or an evening meal. If you are lucky you will even get to enjoy the owls hooting or the cries of a fox chasing their prey!
Guests have full access to the space.

We do have cats that wonder the property but do NOT come into the barn. We maintain a pet free space. The guest space (private) is next to the family gym so their may be occasional sounds coming from the rowing machine or some clanking of weights. But don't worry,we don't train that much and the sounds are quite minimal. There is virtually no road noise. Only a few cars pass by the Red Barn. Since this is a "farmette" you may also hear some occasional tractor and mowing noises. But we do work on minimizing farm work during early morning or evening hours.
This is a rural, quiet setting - very private - You will love seeing the night sky - there is no lights spoiling the seeing the stars. We have finished wooden floors - we ask that you take shoes off when inside so bring slippers or comfortable, clean rubber soled shoes.
Please no smoking outside on the property. There are TV's that are DVD players but no TV access so bring your favorite DVD's and music.
There are cats outside BUT the Barn is cat and dog free so anyone with cat allergies are fine. We have carefully kept the barn pet free. There is a border collie and two miniature donkeys on the property as well. And if you are lucky you will hear the owls hooting at the crying fox.
I am from near Gettysburg, PA and work in DC. I like to ride bicycles and tend to have my bike with me and my car so easy, safe parking is important to me.
