I will be available by phone, text, email; and I have a caretaker and cleaning lady on call.
This is a real treat for the nature lover, someone who is committed to green living, and who can appreciate being among 2nd growth douglas firs and where electromagnetism is very low - as it is off-grid. However, if you are looking for a 5-star hotel service, this is the wrong place -Savary has a real shortage of helpers during the summer season. Every year, I do improvement to the cabin, but things on Savary Island, being that is barge and watertaxi only, move pretty slowly - and that's the beauty of it. Travelers will have to be able to operate a small generator (very straight forward - I operate them all the time) and water pump (also very easy) - although new pressure system planned for the Spring, so the water should come up automatically.
$80 will be taken from deposit for cleaning, unless guests leave the cabin tidy. Smoking outside please. Savary is completely off-grid; guests will have to get a small generator going for 2 hrs every day (ok to leave it running and go to the beach) - not any harder than starting a lawnmower, really. This will keep the power system topped up when you need it the rest of the day (lights, phone chargers) There is a big watertank, so you probably won't need to start the gas waterpump to fill it, unless the house is full, but that is also as easy as starting a lawmower, and with the new water line, it won't take more than 30 mn. The caretaker will show you how to use the equipment.

Originally from rural Quebec (1 1/2 hour from Quebec City), I share my time between Vancouver, Savary Island and Guanajuato with my dogs Basil and Frijolito. I'm an Artist Painter/Scenic Painter, with a love for music, decorating, and good food. During my travels, I found that a home away from home was important, and that's what I want to provide for people. I speak French, and I can make my way in Spanish.
