My mother and I had a lovely stay in Glasgow!
Rhiannon was very flexible and communicative about our arrival to the flat. All her responses were very prompt, via airbnb.*
Rhi was out working when we arrived, but Rhys welcomed us in to the flat and made us at home. He was very friendly and warmly offered suggestions for places to eat and chatted with us about our plans while in town, giving suggestions and answering questions about what to see and how to get around.
(For anyone interested in delicious, traditional Scottish food, I cannot recommend Bothy strongly enough. Rhys & Rhi will tell you how to get there.)
The location could not be better!! This flat is extremely convenient to train and subway, and is in a very walkable area - only 10min easy walk to Kelvingrove Museum & park, and nice walk to University district.
The listing is accurate to access to city center - one minute walk to the subway and a short ride into city center.
Also the access to the train system made Glasgow a wonderfully convenient point from which to explore other parts of Scotland - including an easy day trip to Edinburgh during Fringe & a side trip up to Loch Lomond.
The bed was comfy and cozy. The bathroom was clean and water was hot. And the set up of the flat allowed us to spend time in other rooms (living room or kitchen) without feeling like we were imposing on the space or privacy of our hosts.
All in all, it felt like home and ensured that my first trip to Glasgow will not be my last.
*Note to other travelers - perhaps I'm not as tech-savvy as most of the world, but I was glad to have the airbnb app and wifi at the airport or I may have had difficulty getting in touch as I did not have cell service in the UK. If you might not have wifi access during travel or upon arrival in Glasgow I suggest making that known to hosts in advance.
