A charming colonial lake side bungalow, set within it's own managed ornate gardens. Positioned a stones throw from the airport on the edge of Ivato lake, this home is a bird watcher's paradise. Watch Olive Bee eaters, Kingfishers, Hopoe, Hovering Sun Birds to name a few; whilst having breakfast on the terrace. Stunning views across lake and beyond make this bungalow a unique solace tucked away from the business of the capital city.
This colonial style bungalow sits overlooking the lake which stretches from Ambohibao to Ivato airport. Set in it's own managed gardens, amidst rare flowers and ornate fruit trees, we challenge you to find a more tranquil place to retreat after the mad bustle of Antananarivo city. If you are into bird watching you've come to the right place, Hopoes, Bee Eaters and Sun birds to name but a few; frequent the garden; Kingfishers, Great Egrets and many more birds nest in the reeds on the lake and you can feed Matilda our giant old tortoise pushing 30 and still going strong.
You have access to the whole house and gardens.

A maid who lives in a small house on the site will clean the bungalow and make your beds every weekday and will do your washing for a small fee (£3) as well as be available for small chores like basic food shopping etc. if you so require.
Hi. We are John and Cath Butlin. Mum and dad to Bethany 9 and Lydia 7. We are both teachers by profession and are out in Madagascar at present, working to set up a children's charity. We've always wanted to give something back to society and have finally dragged the kids out of school and took the plunge. We are loving Madagascar but will have to return to the U.K. in July to raise funds and get our Bournemouth & Portsmouth student properties ready for our summer airbnb lets. We're living in a beautiful rare lake side property here in Madagascar and don't want to lose it, so in order to pay the bills whilst we're away we're going to airbnb that out too! So airbnb is our summer fund raiser! Just think whilst you're staying in one of our houses you're raising finances to support families in crisis in Madagascar! The student houses aren't the Ritz but they are roomy and functional and will provide a central hub serviced by many local bus services to Town and beyond. We are around for the summer so we can help you settle in to the accommodation and if you are interested you can follow our adventures on our wordpress blog. As for the Madagascan house you won't find a more peaceful and beautiful outlook in the whole of bustling Antananarivo, so snap it up whilst its still free! We look forward to hearing from you and know your stay will be an enjoyable one.
