Family/twin or double room in 1st or Upper floor flat. 1 double + 1 single bed) Note supplement for 2 +. Peaceful central location. Main bathroom shared (if other room has been let). Use of kitchen & lounge. Convenient for bus service, shops, pubs etc Free wifi. Parking nearby.
The room is in a self-contained flat on the 1st floor and is comfortable for 3 people (2 beds) and if you are a group or family travelling together you could rent out another double room on the same floor or other rooms on the Ground floor (see my other listings for Arkland). There are two rooms available in each flat. The flats are very well maintained, bright and with many facilities and if you only rent a room you have access to the lounge and well-equipped kitchen where you can prepare meals. Arkland is in a historic building in the small conservation town of Inveraray. The house is in the centre of the town but in a quiet lane and with easy access to the town (2 mins walk). If arriving by bus it is a short 5 minute walk from the bus terminal. From Glasgow International airport - we are 1.5 hours (about 56 miles). A lovely drive and you are in the heart of the west highlands!! What a wonderful way to start your Scottish holiday - wake up to hills, lochs, rivers and a true Scottish castle on your doorstep!
Continental breakfast or a breakfast pack could be left in the kitchen for your arrival if you don't have time or the energy to shop. This is not included in the room price.
Central bathroom, Kitchen and Lounge. Also small terraced patio at the rear of the house

I work as a tour guide so am not always in Inveraray. But when I am, I like to help guests who are on holiday with their travel arrangements and possible routes to explore.
Important: Please ensure that you read the HOUSE MANUAL when your booking is confirmed and in advance of your stay so that you know the location of the property, all other details, and can find it easily on arrival as I may not be at home to welcome you. This ensures that you have a trouble free experience even if you arrive late at the property.
I like my guests to enjoy themselves but to respect other people sharing the flat and also neighbours in the flat above or below. All flats and rooms are non-smoking.
I normally allow pets as long as people have advised me in advance
I live quite a busy and fulfilled life as I work as a tour guide and driver guide in Scotland in the summer months. I suppose I have the best of both worlds because I have some free time in the winter so I love to travel and discover new places then and also to catch up with my fiddling as I play traditional Scottish music and go to workshops and Feis's (festivals) and have met some great people there of all ages. I also am very lucky to have 2 lovely grandsons and like to take them camping, canoeing and cycling in my free time. I have always been quite active and enjoy a bit of adventure in my life as well as going to the theatre, movies, galleries, etc. Country life is great but its super to have a jaunt to the city and to discover restaurants with good food and ambiance. I always have my camera at the ready for an unexpected photo op – there are plenty of those around Argyll. It is lovely to meet new people, especially from other countries and to help them to discover the best of Scotland so I hope I can do that for you!
