Big, spacious apartment (4 rooms) in urban and quiet Berlin-Friedenau, sunny all day: back rooms and kitchen in the morning, front rooms in the afternoon/evening - the space is full of light because of the big windows. 3rd Floor (no escalator!), great view over the roofs of neighbouring houses.
2 rooms in this nice apartment are available. The 2 rooms together will take up to 4 persons, ideally 2 persons in 25 square meter room, and 1 person in 18 square meter room.
This description is for the 25 square meter room with balcony.
The minimum stay is 5 Nights.
Within Berlin – Friedenau – belongs to the older quarters and was incorporated into the city around the 1920´s. Because of its art-nouveau buildings it has a sweet, village-like flair. It has attracted writers (Uwe Johnson and Günther Grass) and other artists (Karl_Schmidt-Rottluff) and still does. Friedenau/Schöneberg has a flourhishing gallery scene – for example it is hosting a 2-day event every autumn: (URL HIDDEN) which displays works of 40-50 different artists. I myself will exhibit my Objects [turned wooden art].
Berlin´s Main Concert Hall – the Philharmonie – is 10 min away by cab. As are the most important museums in the Centre.
Other than that you find nice cafes and restaurants in walking distance. Subway-, S-Bahn-, and Bus-Station are pretty close by - just 5 min walk. Autobahn access within 500 meters.
You can reach the airport in 45 min and the main train station in about 15 min.
Big size guest room:
25 square meter, french bed, seating area with 2 chairs, table to dine and/or work and a 'Art-Noveau' cabinet with lots of space for your clothing. Balcony, facing the west with an view atop Berlin-Friedenau rooftops.
Medium size guest room:
18 square meter, single bed, seating area with 1 sofa, table to dine and/or work and a 'Art-Noveau' cabinet with lots of space for your clothing.
High-Speed Internet and W-Lan included.
Medium size kitchen, fridge, stove.
Medium size bathroom, aptly planned so it feels spacious. Light, well aired.
I want to mention that there is no aircondition. We are in Germany, after all... The apartment has many windows - the danger of congestion is close to nil.
There is an Indian Restaurant just around the corner:
India-Palace, which has yummy food.
A little further you find a nice Cafe/Restaurant 'Lula' which is featured/mentioned lately quite often in local newspapers and magazines. Great coffee, international cuisine.
On Hauptstrasse [3 minutes walk] itself you will find are two excellent Restaurants.
One is the Italian Restaurant Trattoria del Corso - Lunch/Diner - Its really good, and Tomasa with an rather international menu. This place is very nice for breakfast which is also served in the garden-area - I go there quite often with friends.
There is another cafe/beer garden next to the S-Bahn station - 4 Min from home.
You might also check for renowned restaurants in Berlin's quarter Schöneberg/Friedenau:
(URL HIDDEN) and/or

What you should bear in mind:

My name is Agneya. I like to meet people from all over the world. Some 20 years ago I was travelling a lot myself (India, USA, Spain, Ireland, Portugal, Italy...) – now I enjoy to welcome the world in my home!
I work as a database developer. What I especially enjoy jobwise is that my projects allow me to have contact with people finding solutions for their business needs.
After office hours - or sometimes during since I am a freelanceturn wood into art in my small and well equipped workshop located within walking distance from my home. Once a year I participate in a group exhibition that takes place in mid-autumn.
I love wood, trees and nature and I love that wood offers me a possibility to express my creativity. (Earlier I have done this on a different scale in my own carpentry shop). Hope to have a website ready soon showing my objects.
I spent about 2 years in an ashram in India. To stay tuned and to further my personal and spiritual development I meditate regularly. My fav is Zen meditation.
Hospitality is of great importance to me. I like to have my friends visiting me and spending time together sharing company, talks, meals and drinks.
So - see you soon in Friedenau!
