(Psst... Hey you, person thinking about booking: Please message me first to confirm, and also please read the entire listing as it likely answers any questions you may have.)
Steps to The Roundhouse and perfect for families or wedding parties and those without a car... Hello and welcome to the best place in Beacon! Wake up to the sounds of the burbling creek and the site of Mount Beacon rising in the distance of this bright, sunny, window-filled house.
This listing is for the top two floors (with private entrance) of a massive three-story house (the first floor is a separate apartment with a private entrance that may be available for rent as well if you have a particularly large party: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/12115175). This listing comes complete with three spacious bedrooms and three (one half) large bathrooms. Note that this listing can hold six people. The total of 10 people/4bed/bath is for guests who rent both listings/the full house.
This is a unique and immaculately clean home (seriously: read the reviews), steps to the action of Main Street's thriving East End (the creek and the Roundhouse are right there), yet feels like it is alone in nature, with Mount Beacon rising behind it and beautiful Fishkill Creek (a protected wetland nature reserve) burbling directly in front. Open your windows, and all you hear is the peaceful sound of running water (nature's white noise machine!). And the Beacon Falls waterfall is just seconds away.
You are also a quick a 25-minute walk to the Beacon Metro North train station, and a short walk to the Mount Beacon trailhead for hiking. There is also plentiful parking for numerous vehicles. As for the wonderful spots along Main Street, you couldn't be closer: Stumble out your door for coffee and pie at Ella's Bellas, grab a delicious meal The Beacon Hotel Restaurant, eat ramen at Quinn's, see a live show at The Towne Crier, or walk out the door to attend a wedding, cocktail, or five-star meal at The Roundhouse.
The house was designed to merge the old and the new. Vintage mid-century pieces live next to the rustic, reclaimed, and modern. Classic design and modern technology allow for the best of both worlds. Each of the three bedrooms is lightly themed and decorated to provide a unique experience.
The home includes:
-A giant living room complete with a full-wall movie projector for Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, and other streaming services.
-Full, modern kitchen outfitted for making whatever you like (yes, there's a dishwasher).
-Bedrooms galore: Three huge ones, including an en suite master. All rooms are equipped with world-famous Casper mattresses, for supreme comfort (some guests tell me it's the most comfortable bed they've ever slept in).
-Bathrooms galore: Two giant full bathrooms (including one en suite with the master bedroom) as well as one spacious half bath. One of the full baths has two sinks, for easy sharing.
-Large dining area with a large custom-built live-edge wood dining table.
-There is a washer/dryer that may be used by guests staying at least four nights.
-Unbeatable creek-front location, creating a quiet nature-filled oasis, just steps from the best spots on Main Street.
-Sonos sound system for streaming music.
-Blazing fast Wi-Fi Internet.
-Touchpad smartlock for keyless entry and effortless check-in and coming-and-going.
Each of the three bedrooms is lightly themed and decorated to provide a different immersive experience.
-"The Maltese Falcon Room": In this classic film noir-inspired room, you are a hardboiled detective, ripped from the screen of Hitchcock or the pages of Chandler. See if you can find the hidden Easter Eggs while admiring the Maltese Falcon statue that famously drove men to madness.
-"The White Room": Modern white furniture and art and classic mid-century wood pieces mingle together in the largest room. A private en suite bathroom and gigantic walk-in closet provide a hotel-like experience with views of the burbling creek.
-"The Fantasy Room": Have a mad tea party in this whimsical bedroom, complete with toy cars and an unending sense of whimsy.
Outdoors: The living room opens up onto a large wooden deck, while a beach-like sloping yard rises above the parking area. Perfect for laying out and refreshing in the sun.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Q: Do I need to bring towels or linens? What about a hairdryer or iron?
A: Nope! I provide all these things. Same with hotel-size toiletries (unless I happen to be out, which is very rare).
Q: How will I receive the key and how many keys will I get?
A: The house features a keyless entry system with a code that lasts as long as your stay. This allows for effortless check-in and entry for your entire party.
Q: Is the place professionally cleaned between guests?
A: Yes, and I take pride in providing a clean home for guests. Take a look at my reviews—I think you'll find my guests agree!
Q: Should I include children when entering the size of my party?
A: Yes. And please enter infants as "children" and not "infants" if Airbnb gives you the option to specify (this seems to only pop up for some users). The party size needs to be registered with my insurance company and children definitely count as people to insurance. Also, please understand that all listed "extra person" charges are also a function of the increased cost for me to insure larger parties, including children and infants.
Q: I am looking for a last-minute stay. Can I make a same-day booking?
A: If you're looking for a same-day booking and the place is free, please inquire and I'll try! It depends on whether my cleaning crew can spring into action at the last-minute, which isn't a sure thing. For same-day bookings, check-in may also have to be later than the listed time in order to make sure the place is ready. Still, can't hurt to ask!
Q: What's my total booking price?
A: I honestly have no idea. With fees included, Airbnb only shows the guest, and not the host, the total cost. This figure should be present after you enter your dates. Note that, pricing varies on a daily basis, and Airbnb actually uses some crazy algorithm to adjust it automatically, so I don't actually control this.
One last thing: I really, really appreciate that you followed directions and read this whole thing. Please put the phrase "Bonus points are fun!" at the top of your message so I know you did so as such bookings tend to go so much smoother! And thanks for hanging in there!
Oh, and if you're looking for another nearby getaway, check out my Glass House tiny house: An off-grid glass-enclosed tiny home on a 30-acre farm with views of rolling vineyards and apple orchards, just 25 minutes from Beacon. It's truly magical: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17865668
The run of a huge house with a private entrance, giant living area and kitchen, three spacious bedrooms, and three bathrooms (one half). There is a keyless entry system, for effortless check-in and coming-and-going. I think you'll love the place!

If you need anything at all—help finding something, questions about appliances, need help getting the movie projector working, or simply looking for a good place to grab a bite—shoot me a text or give me a call! Note that, for your safety, a security camera monitors the exterior of the outside doors. And seriously: If you're planning a rager with 30 people beyond the folks listed on the reservation, please don't book.
-The first floor of this house is a fully separate apartment with a separate entrance and no shared space with the larger home. If you have a larger party, you're welcome to rent it as well, as long as it's available.
-Note that this listing can hold six people and has three large bedrooms. The listed total of nine people/4bed/bath is for guests who rent both listings/the full house. Apologies if it's confusing, but I had to put it like that so larger parties can find me!
It's all pretty much common sense:
-Please leave your shoes at the door. I'll be grateful!
-Please no smoking inside, or leaving cigarette butts/ashes outside. And please do not smoke right next to the open door, to keep it from getting inside.
-Please no unregistered visitors/guests or pets.
-As the total guest count must be registered with my insurance, all infants must be booked as "children" to avoid exceeding my insurance-mandated limit.
-To protect the awesome pieces, please use coasters or placemats when placing things on wood furniture!
-If the downstairs apartment is occupied, please keep noise to a reasonable level after 10pm.
-Please do your best not to stain the linens/pillowcases with mascara or makeup.
-Please put things back—furniture, books, etc...—where they were. And if you move any furniture, please try not to drag/scratch the floors.
-Please turn off lights and things like the pinball and projector when you leave!
-Please close windows when you leave the house and when you checkout. This is both for security and to keep too many bugs from flying in (even through the screens).
-Please be respectful of the neighbors, and limit outdoor noise at night.
-Insurance says I can't let guests use the fireplace, so sorry about that.
