A rustic, peaceful getaway located on the Jacmel coast. Full of artwork from recycled materials, amazing sunset views, and great service from the energetic owner, Polyanna, make for a one-of-a-kind experience perfect for the adventurous traveler.
Hey everyone. Thank you for considering a stay at Morelan Bed & Breakfast.
As mentioned in my profile description, I am not the actual host. The host is a good friend of mine named Polyanna. She is a native Haitian who does speak English, but is not familiar with AirBnB, so I am helping her share her amazing space with people. Polyanna will be at the house during your stay to ensure you have a great experience. I will connect you with her once the booking is complete. In the meantime, you can ask me any questions, as I live in Haiti, frequently stay at her place, and am in constant contact with Polyanna.
A few things about the space.
The inside and outside of Moreland B&B is full of creative artwork made from recycled materials such as tires and wine bottles. There are a total of three rooms and four queen beds, each room having its own unique flare. The showers are not heated, but speaking from experience, who needs hot water in Haiti! There are floor-style air conditioners in two of the rooms, and fans available for all the rooms. (Disclaimer - I have not yet tested out the air-conditioners, so I cannot vouch for their effectiveness). Unfortunately, if the city-power goes out at night, you will most likely hear the generator running to keep the fans going. Internet can be provided through a hotspot on Polyanna's phone, on which she is more than happy to set you up. The kitchen is basic, having a sink, fridge, and Haitian-style, coal stove. Included in the price is bottled drinking water (don't drink the tap water) and breakfast, which you will want to be sure to eat as her cooking is as creative and good as her art. Polyanna also has a dog and two cats that will be on site during your stay, but can stay elsewhere if this poses a problem.
I think this covers all of it, but please let me know if you have any questions.

Polyanna will be on site during your stay and will be available to help with any questions or concerns you may have.
I have been coming to Haiti since 2011 and have lived here full-time since 2014, having coordinated dozens of visitor trips to Jacmel. If you have any questions about getting to and from, or around in Jacmel, I am more than happy to help.
If you think of anything special you might need or don't want to pack, odds are we can arrange for it to be waiting for you upon your arrival. We want to make sure you have the best experience at Morelan B&B.
We want all of our guests to enjoy themselves and everything Jacmel has to offer. To help in this matter we ask that everyone follow local customs for good behavior in the hotel. Including but not limited to respectful behavior towards other guests and hotel staff. We would hate to do it, but if need be, we keep the right to refuse access or expel violating guests, their invited (double occupancy) guests or cancel a reservation.
If you feel the urge to smoke, you are more than happy to do so outside, but ask that you think twice about your health and the health of those around you before you do.
Thank you for your interest in Morelan Bed & Breakfast. We look forward to hearing from you.
