Our country house Le Puy Chapon is a family home full of history. It is part of a hamlet of four stone houses perched atop a hill overlooking a valley watered by a stream, the Ravillou. Long ago Le Puy Chapon housed the farm manager for the local land owner living a few hundred metres away. It is renovated for comfort but retains it's charm and offers an exceptional view. Many acres of pastures surround the property making it a quiet and secluded heaven troubled only by the daily passage of the postman!

My cousin lives in a village 3 km away abovee Saint Germain des Pres, there is an English family in the hameau nearby, a Belgian gentleman as well and a French couple. That's the circle - unencumbered but not totally isolated. Corinne, a local caretaker, will welcome you and help get you started.
Internet is good, TV is French (DVD on site), The town of Excideuil 7km away has all you need for shopping as well as an interesting castle. If you are a tea drinker and prefer loose tea, bring your own. Otherwise, there is a 'French Press' pot for ground coffee and an expresso machine. Some basig necessities await you - coffee, vinegar, sugar etc as well as a bottle of rose! Dordogne Perigord Vert.
Basic cleaning of the house is requested prior to departure. Sheets and towels should be piled up ready for laundry. Kitchen and bathrooms should be tidy. A nearby relative will introduce you to the premises and will get the keys back when guests leave.
