Four adults, 2 children, and a small dog comfortably stayed at this cabin. The amenities included a full kitchen, electric grill, washer/dryer, spa, and limited wi-fi. While the cabin was situated amongst other vacation homes, it remained sufficiently secluded and tranquil for a relaxing vacation. We most enjoyed having our meals on the front deck and taking in the scenery. Wildlife was plenty--mostly smaller critters--woodpeckers, chipmunks, and turkeys. The cabin was also located within a reasonable driving distance (approximately 45 minutes) to most of the popular tourist destinations including Rapid City, Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, and Deadwood. Just be prepared to drive on dirt roads that are steepish at times and don't accommodate two-way traffic as well as paved roads that have numerous hairpin turns--all of which are typically common while traveling in a mountainous area. While not fully off the grid, it did give us ample opportunity to unplug. The wi-fi is limited by data usage, which we managed to reach quickly even without streaming videos/music or downloading pictures (all of which were prohibited anyway per the cabin's rules); this caused a much slower connection. Our cell service (AT&T) was also spotty at the cabin and nearby. A VCR and TV were available, but few videos and channels were offered. If your family may wish to unwind with a movie, consider bringing some from your own collection. We were satisfied playing board games (quite a few were available) and enjoying the peacefulness and solitude of the great outdoors. We would highly recommend checking out Rapid Creek in Silver City (as per Aaron's suggestion), Pactola Reservoir (just realize pets may not be welcomed everywhere), and Reptile Gardens (Rapid City). The cabin was clean, comfortable, and convenient. Overall, my family and I had a memorable vacation and the cabin will be a big part of those memories. Aaron was a gracious host and very helpful. We hope you have the opportunity to make your own memories at this cabin.
