When we start a vacation house UJITIE, our town doesn’t have foreign travelers. But now, we have more than 200 guests every year from all over the world.

【Have your time with family, friends, and lover.】
You can rent a house it includes a bath, kitchen, bedroom, and Toilet.
And also a huge garden.
You can feel it is your house.
UJITEI has many artworks Toshi who is an owner makes.
It has floor made by cherry blossoms and wood table.
The wall is made by plaster.
All materials are well thought out.
Because we made UJITEI for our family house.
So you can make your time in a cozy room.

If you have a busy time all day, it is difficult to talk to your family, friends, and lover.
But this is far from your busy life.
It is surrounded by beautiful nature and arts.
This environment will make you purer and you can enjoy and relax.
This time will be precious in your life and your relationship.
You can forget your work, business etc.
You can share your happiness, your thinking, your life with your important person here.

When we clean the room, we think what is good for guests.
But when guests stay here, the room is totally changed.
Because every guest changes the placing table and sofa etc.

Someone asks you what happen and call to us or take you to UJITEI.
Or when you walk, a farmer may give fresh food.
You will be a part of our town.

We had a guest before.
In the hot summer, she went to a grocery store and bought a farm hat.
And she asked what is a good place in Kamo.
He explained and also brought a bike with sidecar.
Then he took the best place in Kamo with it!!
I can not promise you can do same experience with it.
But you can make friends here and enjoy communication.

We don’t have special sightseeing, but you can experience real life.

【Drink tea together】
Next to the UJITEI, It has another house which Toshi and Taeka live.
It is just 20steps.
Why it has two houses on the same ground in the countryside?
We make rice and vegetables or cut grasses outside.
And we drink tea when we brake.
If you are not busy, we invite you to drink tea together outside.
When we drink tea outside, neighbors come to drink together.
They also work outside and want to brake.
You can ask our life, our rice culture. Or a problem in the countryside or how to buy the house, Shiba(!?)
We love to talk and know other culture.
Then we work again outside. If you are interested in farm work, you can join!

When we start vacation house, Taeka could not speak English well.
But she wanted to ask and talk with guests, She starts to go to English lesson after she is 60 years old!
So please talk with her:-)
To talk with guests, we can know each other.

【Culture experience】
・Put on Yukata

・Ikebana(flower arrangement) 3000yen/2-3hours
We go to the mountain together and pick up natural flowers.
And you can learn how to arrange the flowers into vase.

・Shodo(calligraphy) 2000yen/2-3hours
You learn origin the Chinese characters.
You draw simple Chinese characters.
We make your name with Chiese characters and draw it.


We dye it in Yuka's Atlier it takes around 1 hour.
1. Explain dyeing process.
2. Cut cypress 2cm with scissors
3. Boil the cypress with pot to make a color
4. Design pattern
5. Make the pattern with wood plate
6. Dye the stall by boiling with dye liquor 30minutes
7. Remove the wood plate and wash
8. Finish and take photo together


-----ABOUT THE AREA-------

It is in North Okayama prefecture.
It is a beautiful countryside.
It is called " Sunshine country, Okayama"
That's why we don't have many rainy days.

There are two houses in grounds.
One is my parent's house.
Nobody uses the other house.
So You can use the house as your house.

The house is surrounded by my father's artworks.
He works as a farmer and makes artworks.
Every artwork has a deep concept from nature and his life.
You may drink sake and talk with him.

Our town has many mountains and river and rice field.
It is really beautiful in every season.
We don't have many houses near our house.
So you can relax and enjoy your vacation!

There is a beautiful and clean river near our house.
You can swim in the river.
Also, you can see Firefly and many stars in June.

In Spring, You can see cherry blossoms.
In Summer, You can see Firefly and stag beetle and beautiful stars.
In Fall, You can see red leaves of the mountain.
In Winter, You can see much snowing.

We have family rice fields,
if you would like to experience rice-planting and rice-reaping, you could do it.(It depends on when you come)
We also have a garden, So you can use it and eat fresh vegetables as much as you can. It is free.

We hope to share our normal life in the countryside.
Japanese countryside is very beautiful.
And our life is made by nature.
We would like to share it.



-----LOCATION-----
JR Mimasaka Kamo is a nearest station.
It takes one and half hours from Okayama airport（If you hope, I could take and back by car. extra 3500 yen）
It takes two and half hours from Osaka to Tsuyama city by bus.
It takes three hours from Kyoto to Tsuyama city by bus.
It takes one and half hours from Okayama station to Tsuyama station by train.

It takes 30 minutes from Tsuyama station to Mimasaka Kamo station by train or car.
If you hope, I could take and back by car.(extra 2000 yen)
In that case, maximum 4 people can ride on my car.
If you would like to use rent car, I will search it for you.


We have hot springs in our town. It takes 2km from our house.
Super market, tennis coat and sports ground is near also 2km from our house.
It takes 5 minutes to go nearest temple by walk.
It takes 10 minutes to go beautiful waterfall.

We have 2 property and we help your trip with our family,
my father and mother and my husband.
My father is an artist, painter, and sculpture. My mother likes kimono,
ikebana and Japanese calligraphy.
I and my husband are designers.

We had stayed and traveled to many countries before.

Japan has 4 seasons. Especially, countryside is very special.
Spring, you can see cherry blossoms.
Summer, you can swim in the clean river and see many fireflies.
Autumn, you can see the autumn color of leaves in the mountain.
Winter, you can see snow and play skiing.
You will be relaxed and enjoy in our property that is surrouded by beautiful nature.

The house name is a UJITEI.
It is a house that is next to my parents' house.
My father is an artist and all artworks are made by him.
It is in the countryside. We have a beautiful river, big mountain,
a lot of rice field, craft and old folk Japanese house in our city.
If you would like to experience to make rice,
you could do rice planting and harvest rice.(It depends on when you stay.)

2."Traditional & Modern ART & CRAFT"
The house name is Hostel Antamina.
Shop and Restaurants are included in the property.
It was a historical building. When it was Edo period, The street was a hotel area for Samurai and Shogun.
The property was built 100 years ago. Craftsman built the building with beautiful skills.
There is a huge Japanese garden too. You can feel traditional and modern art.

She can teach Ikebana(flower arrangement),
ceremonial green tea, Calligraphy, Dressed up Kimono.
She learned Ikebana and ceremonial green tea over 40 years.
Her family lived in this place generously.


She grew up in the mountain.
That’s why she is very familiar with the flowers that live in this area.
Her workshop of Ikebana goes to the mountain she grew up and pick up flowers.
She is curious and loves to talk with guests.
After we started a vacation rental, she decided to learn English to talk with guests.
