When I think about Transylvanian cooking I think about comfort food. Dishes are borrowed from neighboring cultures Turkish, Hungarian, Germanic and Slavic. If you already thinking about all the delicious food join me, I will show you how we eat at home with my family.
For starters, we are going to drink homemade pálinka (plum brandy) from my grandfather, home-made bread sausages and typical szalonna then we start cooking. The dish is simple to make and simplified for you, in order to remake it at home with family.
Goulash soup - is a rustic stew made with beef and vegetables served with homemade bread sour cream and home-made pickles.
For dessert, we are going to have the famous Romanian papanasi which is fried dough with sweetened curd cheese, homemade jam and sour cream.
I try mostly to buy local or I use the products that I prepare so everything that we eat is either homegrown or from the local market. This gives everything a real authentic taste and special flavors.
After we finished cooking we seat down and enjoy what we prepared over a nice chat a gorgeous view.
You will go home with a small gift and your belly full.
