Što ćete raditi
You'll arrive at my farm, greeted by the sounds of chickens clucking and the neighbor's cows mooing. From there, we can choose to unroll our yoga mats on the reclaimed pine floors of my straw bale home, or on the porch overlooking a pond frequented by herons and surrounded by willows. We will start with a short check-in, then move through a one hour beginner-friendly practice that will include centering, postures, and a guided meditation. I'm happy to accommodate any requests or modifications you'd like to make. Afterwards, we will enjoy a small snack of locally sourced foods from my farm and/or neighboring farms. Elgin is the sausage capitol of Texas, so don't be surprised if some of our local links make an appearance! Vegetarian-friendly options available as well. Then we will take a brief tour of the farm, including the chickens free ranging in the orchard, the newly planted beds, and goat pen. I'm happy to talk about sustainable building, bees, chickens, country life, or yoga philosophy! I'm passionate about this way of life and happy to share my experience, including my MANY learning opportunities.
I'm an experienced yoga teacher and sustainable farmer, as well as a beginning herbalist, mother, traveler, and community builder. I obtained my RYT-200 teacher certification in 2009, and since then I've studied with Gary Kraftsow and Leslie Kaminoff. In 2015, I completed prenatal yoga teacher training and currently I teach a variety of classes in the Elgin area, all focused on deep inner connection, strength building, and resilience. I fell in love with these magical ten acres and have been living and learning from my property for 12 years. As a certified permaculture designer, I focus on building thoughtful and sustainable food systems. I produce eggs, honey (and hive products), fruits, vegetables, and herbs. I've been keeping bees for 5 years and adore the varieties of honey my bees make and my time in the "zen of beekeeping".

Gdje ćete biti
We will spend this entire experience on my farm, SHAMBA. The name is an acronym for Sustainable Homestead and Microclimate Based Agriculture. This conveys a focus on place-based agriculture, observation, and refinement. SHAMBA is founded on the principle that all living things deserve to be treated with respect, and that we can raise food in a manner that is in harmony with nature.
