This is a full-immersion experience of Sourdough bread baking. You'll learn all you need to know to bake exceptional bread and engage in an outdoor baking experience using a wood-fired natural cob oven at an idyllic location in the wilderness of a national park in Tuscany.
Go from grain to bread in a day.
We'll start in the morning with an intro to the basic method of preparing the dough. While the dough is rising we'll explore the details of creating the 'starter', managing the fermentation, milling flour, shaping techniques, preparing the wood-fired oven and more. We'll also discuss the health benefits of sourdough vs commercial yeast bread.
And if there's time/interest we can also explore other fermentation products that i enjoy such as sauerkraut and kombucha
While your dough is in the final stages of rising we'll take a break to make your very own delicious pizza which you will eat for lunch!
After lunch we'll bake the bread which will then be yours to take away.
