We meet in Benaulim and go for an easy bicycle ride through the village. We stop to look at birds, walk up the hill to reach the highest point in the village and past some of the local landmarks. We end with chai and a snack at the beach. It's an easy bicycle ride, with geared bicycles and no hills to climb.

When we moved to Goa, the first thing we unpacked were our bicycles. We explored the quiet village roads of Benaulim, the 400 year old church, the lotus pond where birds gather and cafes where the hungry locals gather! We love to show visitors a slice of life in Goan villages, forests, forts and spice plantations, and we believe a bicycle is the best way to explore

Benaulim was originally called Bannahalli- its name is derived from the legend that Parshuram's arrow struck here and forced the sea to retreat. In more recent times, Benaulim is known as the birthplace of St. Joseph Vaz, Goa's only canonised saint.
