Join me in a fun session to learn about handmade collage art. A great hobby for everyone and a fun way to explore your creativity! Whether you have experience or want to explore this technique this experience is for you!
During this collage class, we'll get to know each other and I will share a selection of techniques to get inspired and learn different styles I will have 2 cameras one pointing at my hands so I can show you how to make these techniques. We will also talk about tools, as well as tips for getting started in this practice. You will also create with me, I will go over ideas and concepts with each one in the group so you can create your own collages and learn the process!
Let’s cut & paste and have some fun!!!

Hi! I'm Maria Sylvia also known as "ia." I am a journalist from Venezuela, but I have been living in sunny Barcelona since 2008. I've always been drawn to art. I started painting as a hobby but in 2012, I took a collage course and just fell in love with all its possibilities. Ever since, I have been doing courses from other artists both online and offline. Since 2013, I've been exhibiting in several galleries and venues in Barcelona. My work has been published as editorial illustrations in magazines like Vogue Spain, online publications and collaborations with brands. I have now reached over 200 guests worldwide! Fue una experiencia genial, IA tiene una manera de enseñar y de explicar su arte que te conecta desde el minuto uno, no deseas que acabe la clase, si no todo lo contrario, deseas que pueda seguir por horas y horas, te inspira para que la imaginación propia de cada uno se logre conjugar con técnicas y tips que te llevan a crear obras genuinas. This was a great session. Ia was so friendly and lovely. She taught us some basic collage techinques, and helped us work with the materials we had, giving us advice on how to create our art. It was a fun session with some learnings that we can take on to do more collages ourselves in the future. Thank you Ia.

Wow I'm a total collage convert now, this was ace, loved it. Ia is super friendly, really lovely person and a talented artists in her own right. She explained different techniques, diverse and intriguing inspirations and we then worked on doing our own pieces whilst she continued to instruct and provide engaging commentary. She also provided a slide deck which you can refer to after the class with loads of links and info, super helpful. She's a great teacher. I found it really fun and interesting. If you come across this, i wouldn't hesitate to book it. You just need scissors, paper an old magazine and glue. Lockdown is not easy and this provided some well needed respite.
