We’ll drive across the Jura Mountain range into France to the regions of La Dombes and La Bresse, formerly a part of Burgundy. In these landscapes of countless ponds and lush meadows, sweetwater fish like carp and pike are reared, and the famous Poulet de Bresse (chicken) and Charolais (beef) are raised. This quality produce, as well as local fruit and vegetables, are then being sold at local markets. We visit perhaps the most beautiful of them to discover the ‘Savoir-Vivre’ of the French, their habits, their likes and their passions. The market hall was actually built in the 15th Century! After this visit, we lunch at a local Bressane restaurant and sample the produce we have seen for ourselves during the morning. They sure know how to prepare it well. After this culinary experience, the exceptional 16th Century Royal Monastery of Brou awaits us for a visit and tour of its splendid Gothic architecture and exceptionally beautiful interior. We leave early in the morning (+/- 8:30 am) and return to Geneva late in the afternoon (+/- 18:00 hrs).
