During this interactive session I’ll teach you the basics of canning and preserving. You’ll learn how to water-bath and can delicious local produce in new and unique combinations. I’ll also teach you how to make brine, pack your jars properly, sterilize equipment, and ensure that your produce is properly sealed. Of course, we’ll take breaks to enjoy some local snacks and taste some hot sauces, made right here. You’ll get to take home your own jar of the canned creation to share with friends and family.

What a fantastic experience! We were warmly greeted with refreshments and expertly guided through the creation of a recipe that our group got to select. There was a great balance of direct instruction and hands-on participation. Sarah was an expert and engaging instructor. She shared lots of tips and stories to make sure we were successful and had a great time. And we went home with some delicious sauce that made an amazing homemade pan pizza tonight! Sarah was eager to answer any questions we had, and I got a swell new apron from a great company, based on her glowing recommendation. All in all, it was an experience that we will “preserve” in our memories for a long time! Thanks Sarah!

I learned SO MUCH in this class! Sarah is truly an expert in canning foods, she is extremely knowledgeable and very thoughtful in her teaching style. I've been nervous about canning, getting it right is so important. Sarah shared a great deal of scientific information that was very helpful, I learned how to do things correctly from Step 1 all the way through to the finished product.
